Are you looking for an excuse to check out the Zoo?

Today, the Denver Zoo opened up it's $50-million-dollar Toyota Elephant Passage. A 10-acre complex with six outdoor yards, animal crossings, and lots of water. You can see the exhibit with your general admission to the zoo, but they do recommend reservations.

Read on for more details.

Toyota Elephant Passage is a 10-acre series of exhibits dedicated to rare and endangered Asian elephants, rhinos, tapirs, leopards and numerous birds and reptiles.

The zoo expects the opening to create record crowds, so they are encouraging visitors to make timed reservations for the Elephant Passage area. Those times are scheduled every 15 minutes from 9:15 a.m. to 4 p.m. You can click here to purchase tickets and schedule your reservation.

Personally, I love the zoo and it's only an hour away. I'm excited to see the giant bull elephants, but I think the polar bears are still my favorite Denver Zoo creatures.
