Here is my Top 10 from this list:

  1. Beyoncé first considered recording Meghan Trainor’s smash summer hit “All About That Bass.”
  2. The choir you hear in the background of Sam Smith’s song “Stay With Me” is actually just his voice layered 20 times.
  3. Charli XCX wrote the song “Boom Clap” for singer Hilary Duff originally, but she said it wasn’t “cool enough” for the former teen queen.
  4. The Ying Yang Twins first recorded a verse for Ariana Grande’s smash hit “Problem,” but then she insisted producers reach out to Iggy Azalea.
  5. Ed Sheeran decided to removed the word "f**k*" from his studio version of “Don’t,” after a taxi diver who didn’t want to let his daughter listen to music with explicit lyrics.
  6. While producers were shooting the music video for “Shake If Off,” the played heavy metal right outside the room so people couldn't hear the song before its release.
  7. Do you recognize the opening sample in "Centuries?" Fall Out Boy chose to not use Suzanne Vega’s original vocals, they had their labelmate Lolo sing the “Tom’s Diner” sample in their hit song “Centuries.”
  8. Nico & Vinz’s “Am I Wrong?” charted in Scandinavia and South Africa a full year before it came to the United States.
  9. Mark Ronson was so stressed out while recording “Uptown Funk” he fainted once and threw up three times during the process.
  10. Katy Perry wrote “Birthday” with the hopes of writing a song that sounded like ’90s Mariah Carey.
