That is my rough generalized idea of what it used to mean to be or have a "Trophy Wife" well, it looks more and more like times have changed. The term "Trophy wife" just got an upgrade to first class white collar status. The new Trophy wife is the woman who can hold her own, she's elegant, classy, and educated.
