More than 180,000 2016-2017 Wranglers are being recalled due to wiring issues with the air bags and seat belts.

“In certain crash conditions, the front impact sensor wiring may be pulled until it detaches before a signal can be received by the Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC),” the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration said. in an article at KDVR.com. Currently, the remedy for the recall is under development and the manufacturer has not provided a notification schedule.

If you own a 2016 or 2017 Jeep wrangler, you are encouraged to contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. The Chrysler recall number is S76.

The issue for the recall is that the air bags and automatic seat belt tighteners could be prevented from being deployed if a crash happened.
