The Loveland Chamber of Commerce selected Ellen Colpitts, a Thompson Valley High School senior, as the 2015 Miss Loveland Valentine. Colpitts was one of twelve Loveland-area high school female students up for the prestigious title.

For more than 50 years Miss Valentine has met the Governor, presenting him with a special gift from Loveland and an official Loveland Valentine card. Yesterday she led the Pledge of Allegiance to the House of Representatives at the Colorado state capitol. Colpitts was accompanied by the official Miss Valentine chaperones, Norma Jean and Chet Goodheart.  Colpitts is the 54th Miss Loveland Valentine.

Colpitts earned the win through a powerful essay, articulate and thoughtful interview and genuine “Loveland My Community” speech to attendees of today’s luncheon hosted by Thompson Valley Rotary. 2011 Miss Loveland Valentine Jamie Felton and 22-year Miss Valentine chaperone Norma Jean Goodheart were on hand to present Colpitts with her official sash, bouquet of flowers and custom heart necklace.

Not only is Colpitts an honor student, but she excels in extracurricular activities including cross country, track and field and National Honor Society. She gives back to the community by volunteering to collect canned food items, volunteering with Thompson Valley Rotary to paint hearts for Valentine’s Day and serves as a bell ringer for the Salvation Army. She is interested in pursuing a journalism degree in college.

Ellen is a representative for the Miss Loveland Valentine program and the 2015 Valentine Re-mailing Program.
