So after a last week's episode of The Walking Dead, where I was almost bored off of my couch watching it, my expectations for this week were low. I've been a huge fan of the show since it launched a few years ago but it seems like the past few episodes have been dragging along in quick sand with no movement with the lead characters. Well, last night that all changed and I feel like we are entering a chapter of the series which will both surprise us and make us ask ourselves the question of "What Just Happened".

We start out last night's episode with Rick confronting the newly found Aaron, who comes from a camp which is several cleared blocks of streets in Alexandria, Virginia. Rick is very unsure of what to think of Aaron and we start to see a side of Rick which seems like it is the polar opposite of the way the rest of the group feels. He's almost paranoid. More paranoid than he has been the rest of the series. When Rick meets Aaron for the first time, he starts to think that it is all a trap. Well when someone shows up in the Zombie Apocalypse and acts like the world is still full of rainbows and unicorns, I would start to think that way as well. All Rick can think of is the Governor when he talks to Aaron. And we all know how that ended.

Listen, if I was Rick I would be thinking the same thing. You've seen things that no man should ever have to experience in their lifetime and a stranger comes out of nowhere offering bottled water, apple sauce, and talks about how "great life is" in Alexandria. Why should you move forward with someone with that attitude?

However, after some convincing by Michonne (who probably had one of her best acting performances of the character's career in the series last night), Rick decides to head to Alexandria with the rest of the group. I was glad when he was outvoted and the survivors decide to check out Aaron’s offer. Rick however acted like an eleven year old child throughout the episode and made me start to question whether Rick will last much longer in the series. First claiming that the food they find in Aaron’s RV is theirs now, and later by refusing to use the “safe” road and nearly getting him, Aaron, Glenn and Michonne killed in the process.

They all ended up making it together though, and the final scene ends with the entire group waiting at the steel gates of the Alexandria Safe-Zone and you actually feel like there is hope for the entire crew. It was actually the first time in a long time in the series that you have felt positive, and that everything will work out in the end. Of course, this is The Walking Dead which means this quite possibly could turn into another Woodbury. But for now, I am going to latch onto the thought that this is all going to turn out good for Rick and the crew. At least for now.

All in all, this episode made me think positive again about the series direction and where this will all come to a head when the season wraps up this Spring. This could turn out to be just like when they found the Farmhouse and lived on it for a season and a half. The longevity is there for this to be a permanent stop for Rick and the crew at least until the end of next season.

The questions I asked myself last night were:

1.) Is there going to be another Governor...only this time controlling the Alexandria Safe Zone?

2.) Ricks Paranoia...What direction with this take his character?

3.) Now that they have arrived in Alexandria, can Rick finally shave off that beard he's been growing?

Episode 512 titled "Remember" airs on Sunday and I think we'll have more questions than answers after next weeks episode!
