I have seen a lot of people sharing this headline on Facebook today, "Super Bowl XLVIII Believed to have been Rigged and Currently Under Investigation by NFL." This is just NOT true, the only sleuthing you have to do is scroll to the bottom of the Huzlers page that posted it to see that it is a satire site.

This was the first paragraph posted to the Huzlers website:

After The Seattle Seahawks victory over the Denver Broncos at the NFL’s 48th Super Bowl with a final score of 43-8, NFL officials have just discovered that the game was most likely rigged. NFL officials have just found clues that might prove the game was rigged. Officials believe the Broncos intentionally lost the championship in exchange for a large amount of money.

But then this little gem of truth is found at the bottom of the Huzlers page:

Huzlers.com is a combination of real shocking news and satire news to keep its visitors in a state of disbelief.

I love parody news sites, but I think some of them are going a little too far to look like credible news sources and spread false information. (I.E. the Michael Jordan 'Robbery' from a couple months back.)

Does it make the loss any-less painful for Bronco fans to think that maybe the game was rigged? Possibly, but there is no truth to the story. I mean, I'm sure the league is always investigating leads to try and uphold the integrity of the game, but there has not been some massive cover-up discovered by Huzlers.

Here is the post Huzlers shared to Facebook, that at the time of writing this has been shared nearly 5,000 times.

Read the fine print people. *Facepalm*

Even Snopes now has a page dedicated to the debunking of this little rumor.
