Books of all kinds play such a key part in shaping the growing minds of children – from teaching life's important morals and values, to allowing young readers to escape into imaginary worlds of fictional stories.

All throughout the day on Thursday, January 14, The Human Bean's Greeley Plaza stand, located at 2610 W. 10th Street, will be hosting a children's book drive and a guest barista fundraiser for the Northern Colorado community. They will be collecting books that are suitable for readers ranging from preschool to 5th grade, and customers who donate will receive a bonus double punch on their Human Bean loyalty card. No book is an unwanted book, so why not take the opportunity to pass on an old read to someone else who might enjoy it too.

Devoted to supporting local programs, The Human Bean will distribute the books that are collected to families with children at the Sunrise Dental Center through an Assistance League program called Operation School Bell. This program aims to promote reading and a love of books for young children, by allowing preschool and elementary age kids to pick out a book to take home with them. Since 2013, Operation School Bell has given out around 1,100 books to children living in Greeley.
