The married duo named Brandon and Tara Neckel are opening the town's first microbrewery on Sunday which is located in a 94 year old grain elevator near downtown Wellington. The brewery has already been supplying Wellington Grill with their beers, so if you have been there, you might have already had one of their beers. Old Colorado Brewing was initially suppose to open last spring, then the date was pushed back to December. Setbacks caused Brandon and Tara to miss that date as well. "I didn't think this day would ever come" Tara Neckel told the Coloradoan "Opening a brewery in a town that has never had one before has been a challenge for us and the town".

The opening of Old Colorado Brewing Company will feature 3 beers. Including TruVoss pale ale brewed with Colorado grain and hops, Copper Miner, a different spin on an India pale ale and the brew that I am most excited to try out, the Colorado Campfire brown ale which is brewed with graham cracker, marshmallow and chocolate! Austin Taco food truck plans to be at the brewery for your munchie needs during the opening.

The grand opening of Old Colorado Brewing Company is planned to be this spring.
