The Denver Zoo’s Polar Bears are Leaving

Cranberry, 16, the female polar bear will be leaving this month to her new home at the Alaska Zoo. Lee, 18, will be leaving later this fall for the Columbus Zoo. The move for the pair comes at the recommendation of the Zoos and Aquariums Species Survival plan.

The current polar bear exhibit at the Denver Zoo will not house any more polar bears for the time being. Instead the area will be used for a new and improved exhibit for a pair grizzly bears.
