Teacher Tuesday Winner: Emily Gilchrist of Shepardson STEM Elementary

Teacher Tuesday brought to by Mathnasium, The Math Learning Company, helps you to honor your favorite Northern Colorado educator.

Each week we get to meet some fabulous teachers in our area. From teachers who create afterschool programs to ones who spend a little extra time explaining that math problem, we want to hear about them all.

Every week we will award one teacher with dinner to Rodizio Grill, flowers from Earle's Flowers and Gifts, and present them with a video from Star Painter Productions.

This week's winner is second-year teacher Emily Gilchrist at Shepardson STEM Elementary in Fort Collins. She was nominated by Carrie, whose son Jack, is in Ms. Emily's class. Here's what Carrie had to say about her four-year-old's teacher:

Emily Gilchrist teaches a pre-k special needs class; she is an amazing teacher and friend to my four-year-old Jack. This is the second year that she has taught my son, and he's gained HUGE advancements in speech and motor skills. She treats all the kids and parents with the up-most respect and kindness, and she's fun!
