USA Pro Challenge

Stage 2 of the USA Pro Challenge took the riders to the highest point reached in any professional cycling race – Independence Pass (12,000 ft.). The 126.1-mile route from Aspen to Breckenridge proved to be a challenging day with Mathias Fränk taking the win and Lachlan David Morton wearing the yellow heading into Stage 3 tomorrow.

The USA Pro Challenge got off to an amazing start Monday with a circuit race through Aspen/Snowmass. Consisting of three 22-mile laps, 66 miles total, Stage 1 packed in a challenging 3,080 ft. of climbing per lap. Huge crowds cheered 2013 Tour de France Sprint Winner Peter Sagan across the finish line first, followed closely by the rest of the riders.

The racers in the USA Pro Challenge are going to face a great cross section of what Colorado has to offer when stage 6 comes to Windsor, Loveland, Estes Park, Masonville, Bellevue and Fort Collins. I rode some of it to check it out.

On Saturday August 24, 2013, Stage 6 of the third annual USA Pro Challenge (USAPC) will be rolling through Northern Colorado. It's an internationally televised professional cycling race featuring soem of the world's best riders....basically, it's a pretty big deal and a we'll be seeing a lot of road closures in Fort Collins, Loveland, Windsor and Estes Park both on Saturday and the Friday preceding the event. Read on to see when and where to expect closures during the races.

Stage 6 of the USA Pro Cycling Challenge will pass through Fort Collins, Loveland and Windsor on Saturday August 24th. In honor of the event, the Town of Windsor has planned a Kickoff Party on Friday, August 23rd at Boardwalk Park.

The USA Pro Challenge bike race brings the best racers in the world to Colorado. While the winner will be a happening in Colorado, for many of the racers, with the elevation, grueling climbs, and thin air, Colorado will happen to them.
