Stuart Hole Fire

Firefighters are getting the upper hand on the fire burning northwest of Fort Collins, and some rain in the area overnight helped a lot.  The Stuart Hole Fire is now estimated at 95% containment with full containment expected by Thursday evening. Crews will continue working on mop-up operations and repair work today. About 23 firefighters will continue working the fire today.

We received some encouraging news this afternoon on the fire burning northwest of Fort Collins. Firefighters experienced another good day fighting the Stuart Hole Fire Wednesday and good progress was made with containment. Containment of the 227 acre fire is now reported at 80 percent. Some resources were released from the fire today.  The current cost estimate for fighting the fire is $324,000.

Larimer County Emergency Services, Livermore Fire Department, and the U.S. Forest Service are working a fire reported near County Road 82E and Boxer Ranch Road currently estimated at 5-7 acres...
