Poudre river

A plan has been submitted by the founders of OtterBox for a 100,000 square foot expansion project for the Poudre River District in Fort Collins that would include a distillery, restaurant, meeting rooms, retail shops and a music venue.

An unidentified woman was rescued from the Poudre River yesterday just after noon about ¼ mile east of Overland Trail and the Poudre River in northwest Fort Collins.

About two weeks ago the City of Fort Collins prohibited the operation of any single-chambered, air-inflated devices on the Poudre within Fort Collins city limits due to dangerous conditions on the river. Although the river is still "dangerous," the ban has been lifted.

An unconscious rafter has been pulled from the Cache la Poudre River in the Poudre Canyon, and has passed away.

Because of the rain and the runoff so far this year, the Poudre river is flowing high and very fast.

Just days after the Poudre River opened for recreational activities, it has already been shutdown to some of those activities because of above average runoff and extreme danger.

With the weather turning nice many will be hitting the bike trails but be aware that some are still closed due to flooding and construction.

The public works director in Greeley sent out a press release this morning in regards to 71st Avenue in Greeley. High water in the Poudre river has forced the closure of the road from O street to the river. Greeley has no other closures right now, but sections of the Poudre River Trail are still closed.
