If you have an iPhone, you've probably noticed a pretty big update take effect recently. This is the new iOS 7 software, and it upgrades your iPhone in some pretty amazing ways. HOWEVER...

At a press conference this morning in San Francisco, Apple introduced the iPhone 5. The latest version of the best-selling smartphone has been highly anticipated ever since the somewhat disappointing release of the previous iteration, the iPhone 4s.

If you're a tech junkie like me, then this could be big news for you.  Apple has reportedly made plans to unveil the next iPhone in August, earlier than previous rumors had predicted.

The only bad thing about this is the fact that no matter how much money I throw at the computer screen, nothing happens.

Apple's iPhone has evolved into many versions since it was first released in 2007.  The most recent iteration, the iPhone 4s, broke new ground with features like the voice-activated digital assistant Siri.  It's no secret that Apple is constantly doubling its efforts and improving upon its products, so the iPhone 5 can't be too far off.

Sources claim Apple’s newly-installed CEO, Tim Cook, will preside over an October 4 media event in which he will announce the long-awaited iPhone 5. The date is consistent with previous reports setting early October as the release date for the next-generation smartphone.
