The High Park Fire has burned approximately 58,046 acres, and is about 45% contained.  Shifting winds over the weekend caused more challenges for firefighters.

It has been super smokey here in Fort Collins and the wind has played a big part in that. The wind has also made it difficult for the firefighters to combat the fire that has now burnt an estimated 55,000 acres. Gust have reached up to 50mph forcing the helicopters that have been helping fight the flames to the ground. Luckily, there has been no report of movement in the fire due to the wind, so t

I am an avid user of Craigslist.org and frequent the "free" section on a daily basis. It was a pleasant surprise to see our community come together when I started noticing community members offering assistance to the High Park fire victims.

In Old Town Square today you may have heard some drums and some people clapping. That was all part of a flash mob that gathered to do a rain dance to help quell the High Park Fire that has now burned an estimated 52,000 acres. Rain would be welcomed by all. Hopefully it helps.

The latest count on structures destroyed in the High Park Fire as of Friday afternoon is 112. The Larimer County Sheriff’s Office released this number within the last 30 minutes and said in a briefing Friday afternoon, that more destroyed homes still need to be counted.

In the recent days we need as much help as we can get for the High Park fire. One man decides to go camping at Carter Lake, he then had one too many drinks and created a scene requiring as many as 25 rescuers to leave their duties at the fire to rescue him. Bad timing with this fella...

A spot fire started last night at the High Park Fire. This spot fire is estimated at 200 acres this afternoon. The Larimer Country Sheriff’s Office says about 100 firefighters are working this spot fire in addition to an air attack.  These resources are focusing on structure protection in the Glacier View area.

The High Park Fire has burned approximately 52,068 acres, and is 15% contained. Last night, the fire managed to jump the Cache la Poudre River.

Bad news, it sounds like the High Park Fire has jumped the Poudre River and Highway 14 at Stevens Gulch. The Larimer Sheriff tweeted that new immediate evacuation orders have been issued for 80 more homes in the Glacier View area. (Including Many Thunders Road south into 12th filing.)

I'm watching the Twittersphere during this afternoon's media briefing and it appears there is some good news on the High Park Fire, and some not-so-good news. But the best news could be what looks like a rain cloud developing over the High Park Fire area! Some people were reporting light rain near Ted's Place off Highway 287. C'mon rain, do your thing!
