Food Bank for Larimer County

Thursday night is the 20th Anniversary of 'The Taste.' If you've never been to one of these benefits before, you're missing out. It's a night of food, beverages, silent auctions, live music, fun, and best of all it is all for a great cause in helping The Food Bank For Larimer County.

If you love food, than you should probably circle March 1st-14th on your calendar because you'll probably be going out to eat in Fort Collins...a lot. Great Plates Of Downtown 2013 starts Friday March 1st. It's a great excuse to try a ton of restaurants that you've never tried before, or just to return to your favorite haunts. The Weld Food Bank is still in desperate need of frozen turkey for the holiday season. Volunteers will be at Wal-Mart Supercenter stores until 2 p.m. today collecting turkeys so they can fulfill all of their requests for Thanksgiving.

The Food Bank For Larimer County provides food to those in need in our community, but they are well below their goal for getting frozen turkeys for needy families for Thanksgiving this year. How can you help?

Thanksgiving is only a week away now, and both food banks in Northern Colorado are in critical need of frozen turkey's to meet the communities needs. As someone who feels fortunate to get to spend Thanksgiving in a nice warm home surrounded by family and good food, I ask that you help feed those who are less fortunate this holiday season.

The Poudre River Libraries are doing something very cool this week. You can "can your fines" by bringing in a non-perishable food item to donate to the Food Bank for Larimer County and your library debt will be forgiven.

Hopefully you have seen the logos on our websites or billboards throughout Northern Colorado for The Northern Colorado Empty Stocking Fund!  Maybe your still wondering what the fund is all about?

Thanks to everyone who came out to make our Holiday Food Drive such a success!  We teamed up with all three of our sister radio stations and camped out in the cold at different Safeway locations on Saturday and raised lots of money and food donations for The Food Bank for Larimer County and The Weld  Food Bank.  I was in Greeley with K99’s Brian Gary and we saw, firsthand, just how generous Weld C
