Daily Dose of Weird

There is a diner in Las Vegas with a sign in the window that reads "Caution: This establishment is bad for your health."  Despite this warning before you even walk in the door (as well as an ambulance permanently parked outside), the diner is often full, and keeps people coming back for more, even if it means having to be rushed to the hospital halfway through your meal.

Summer is coming on quickly this year; and if you're like me, you'll be relying on cold treats and beverages to keep cool as the temperatures get higher and higher.  But you'll also have to be wary of one of the most annoying parts of enjoying frozen goodness: the brain freeze.

I don't put much thought into what makes my food the color that it is.  While it is important that food be aesthetically pleasing, I'm generally more concerned with taste and texture.  So I never gave much thought to what makes Starbucks red velvet cake so darn red, or that it might not be strawberries that give the strawberries and cream frappuccino its signature pink hue.

Do you ever get the feeling that lawmakers aren't paying attention to the world developing around them?  Yeah, me too.  And here's the latest proof of that: two children without a country to call their own, just because they were conceived "in-vitro:"

When I first came across this story, I thought I was reading a synopsis for the next Paranormal Activity movie.  But no, apparently not!  This is a legit news story.  Well, I suppose that depends on what your definition of "legit" is; but all the same, it's definitely worth sharing!

It seems like super-protective parenting has been a growing trend over the past few years.  Now, I'm not a parent (yet), but this invention seems like it might be talking things a little too far.

The Who is a legendary band.  It only makes sense that its members still get approached to play shows.  You might say that the members of The Who have been immortalized through their music; but apparently, saying things like that can be confusing to Olympics organizers.

Every so often, a restaurant releases a new menu option that's so unhealthy it makes my heart hurt.  I'm not saying these things don't sound delicious; but I'd just as soon avoid them, and thus avoid a heart attack.  And now Pizza Hut U.K. has taken a new leap in that direction.

Leave it to the Japanese to take something as beloved as beer, and make it weirder and more awesome at the same time.  Hence the reason this story is both your Daily Dose of Weird and the latest installment of Stuff That's Cool!

Couples can have issues.  Most of the time, these issues can be worked out; and the couple is stronger for having been through them together.  I'm engaged, and I know my relationship would not be nearly as strong as it is without the occasional bump in the road.  I feel like a relationship shouldn't continue if certain things happen, though...like life-threatening physical violence.
