With the High Park Fire continuing to burn and and an estimated 37,000 acres consumed, most of us are feeling pretty helpless. With FEMA and the National Guard helping out our brave men and women on the front lines, we can help by donating. We can help those affected by the fire by visiting helpcoloradonow.org and choosing where you want to help. You can also help the animals that have been displaced by the fire by visiting the Larimer Human Society website or bring dog and cat food to their shelter and if you would like to help out the larger animals you can donate hay to The Ranch off of I-25.

Last night Northern Colorado had some crazy weather. I live in Fort Collins myself, and all we got around where I was was some lightening and a short little downpour that lasted about a minute. I heard about all the weather in Windosr, Eaton and Greeley thanks to facebook and my family. I even heard reports of a tornado out by Nunn.

I have heard some stories of bad proms and even mine wasn't that great but this is a little extreme. Two chaperones decided that kids who were dancing a bit "dirty" needed to be sprayed by Lysol, in hopes to "clean" up their act. The two chaperones also deemed it necessary to call girls, "sluts" and "whores" for grinding on the dance floor. Did I mention that this was in a Colorado high school?

I can't believe this. This little boy from Aurora is facing sexual harassment charges and he was suspended for three days over a song he heard on a commercial. The song in question is 'Sexy and I Know It' by LMFAO.  He was singing the song, from which he got from the commercial for M&M's, to a female classmate. According to the school this is his third offense.

The last time I was in California, I discovered a wonderful chain of grocery stores.  They had a limited, but high-quality selection of unique goods, a fantastic return policy, and great atmosphere.  I'm talking about Trader Joe's.

President Obama has granted 10 States, including Colorado, waivers from "No Child Left Behind" education requirements, a policy from the George W. Bush administration that requires all students to have proficient reading and math skills by 2014.

It's back to 'business-as-usual' day for most people, and mother nature decided to welcome us all back to reality with a stunning display this morning. I had a feeling it was going to be a great one so I set my phone out to capture a little time-lapse video of the sunrise in all its glory.

Tuesday night I stayed out way past my bedtime again for a great night. Colbie Caillat and Andy Grammer played a show at the Paramount Theatre in Denver and Derek & I were lucky enough to take some Point listeners backstage to meet both artists.
Colbie is a lovely young woman, and Andy might be one of the nicest guys in rock n' roll and both of them put on a great show. Colbie even brought out a special Denver-born guest during her "encore." read more to find out who it was.

If you love barbecue, you have something in common with OneRepublic frontman Ryan Tedder. He has agreed to become the first franchisee of Southern Hospitality BBQ and he plans to open ten barbecue restaurants, including one in Denver.

Southern Hospitality is a Memphis-style barbecue restaurant and bar based in New York City and already has a second location in the famous Hell's Kitchen.

According to 9news, the largest earthquake to strike Colorado in almost 40 years woke up hundred of people southwest of Trinidad last night (About 270 miles south of Fort Collins).

The earthquake was recorded around 11:46 p.m. and registered as a magnitude 5.3 quake. It had been preceded by 2 smaller quakes and followed by a handful of smaller aftershocks.
