The suspect that was arrested a few days ago in connection with one of the assaults that has terrorized women in Fort Collins, has now been charged with the additional assaults.

As the Coloradoan reported, Fort Collins will now be able to sleep a little better at night knowing the suspect has not only been found but arrested in connection with the string of assaults against women that has plagued Fort Collins in recent months.

The suspect, Jose Angel Alderete-Gomez, 27, was arrested November 21 on suspicion of second-degree assault in connection to the October 8 attack of a woman riding her bike. After the District Attorney had a chance to talk with investigators, he charged the Fort Collins man in connection to the attacks near Campus West.

Alderete-Gomez is facing the following charges, second-degree assault, unlawful sexual contact, harassment, two counts of third-degree assault as well as three counts of being a habitual criminal. Additional charges are possible pending new information from forensic examinations.

The investigation will remain open while officers continue to investigate and process this case.
