After six years of being Colorado's local 'band university' incubator program, the non-profit SpokesBUZZ Fort Collins announced this morning (July 15) that it will be no more.

I think I can speak for anyone involved in the Colorado music scene when I say we are really shocked and saddened by this news.

SpokesBUZZ has been around since 2010, and the volunteer-based program has helped numerous local musicians get a running start and foot in the door when it came to lunching their careers; proving to be a successful model for bands like One Flew West, Slow Caves, Post Paradise and many more SpokesBUZZ alumni.

We simply don’t have the financial support required to sustain the organization into the future, and as much as it pains us to shut the doors, we have a responsibility to the musicians and our music community to not only see the writing on the wall, but to act on it in a way that allows us to complete our chapter in the story with love and integrity. -SpokesBUZZ Executive Director Dani Grant via press release.

It looks like SpokesBUZZ will still be honoring all events through September 1, 2016. You can read more from SpokesBUZZ's announcement here.
