I grew up in the small town of Galeton, CO which now has two paved roads! I graduated from Eaton High School in 2003 and I attended the Ohio Center for Broadcasting in 2005 and graduated the summer of 2006 with a degree in broadcasting. I helped run a student run internet radio station and ever since then I knew I made the right career choice! I love music and playing good music for people so this is a dream come true for me here at 99.9 The Point.

Pick Up Your Dog’s Poo, Get Free WiFi- Say “What!?”
I think that this is a brilliant idea! I don't know how many times I have stepped in a pile at the park that the lazy owners didn't pick up, its frustrating. Parks in Mexico City have gotten the right idea, they are implementing a new program that gives free WiFi if you clean up after your dog. The more the owners clean up, the more time is added on to the WiFi. This is a great incentive to clean up after their dogs. Do you think it would work here?
Amy Maass, Facebook Hewlett Fire Updates- Road Closures, Evacuations and More
I hope that we actually get some rain to help out the firefighters. The Hewlett fire has surpassed 5,000 acres and it is still burning. A mandatory evacuation order for the area of Bonner Springs Ranch Rd, Deer Valley Rd, Obenchain Rd and Ingleside Rd has been issued. All residents are asked to evacuate immediately. Residents may evacuate to the Cache Le Poudre Elementary Gym in Laporte. If you have large animals, you may take them to The Ranch off of I-25.

‘Toastabags’ Allow You to Toast Your Sandwich [VIDEO]
Have you ever wanted a toasted sandwich but if you zap it in the microwave it turns a little rubbery and if you just toast the bread then the cheese and meat is still cold? Well, if you're like me you just deal with either of those options or pull out the Foreman grill and do it that way. If you are in Holland, they have these things that are called 'Toastabags' which allows you to put a whole sandwich in it and then put it in the toaster. Cool right? But what kind of toasters do they have over there that can fit a sandwich?

Tired? Feeling groggy? Need that boost of energy to get you going? Then you should take a lesson from this kid! He is sound asleep in the backseat of the car when his parents decide to wake him up. And what better way to wake up a kid than blasting some 'Nirvana'. I wish I could just wake up rocking like that.
Spiders Hunt in Packs- Say “What!?” [VIDEO]
If you hate spiders as much as Beano does, then this news may be kind of unsettling to you. There is apparently a handful of about 2 dozen species of spiders that are known as "Social Spiders". Normally when you see a spider it is by itself, spiders usually prefer it that way. But these "social spiders" work better and get along fine in groups. These spiders build webs and lie in wait fro their prey and quickly take care of their victim.

‘One Republic’ Drummer Arrest UPDATE
It really is bad news bears! Details on Eddie Fishers arrest have been released and it does not look good. He is accused of attacking his girlfriend of two months, forcing himself into the bathroom where she was hiding out and tearing a sink cabinet off of the wall. His girlfriend suffered a cut lip, bruised arm and a scrape on her hand.
Pigs Will Fly [VIDEO]
Here is a cute little video for today. If you have ever wanted to see a pig fly, here you go. He does get some help to fly, and the sound he makes is adorable. Yeah, that's right, I said adorable. Also I have shown this to some people around here and the consensus is that piglets are cute, then they grow up and turn ugly. What are your thoughts?
Derek, 99.9 the Point City Bans Texting While Walking -Say “What!?”
If you ever find yourself in Fort Lee, New Jersey, make sure you stop walking to answer a text. If you get caught texting while walking you could find yourself dinged with an $85 dollar ticket! The city is cracking down hoping to do away with distracted walkers. If that's the case what about people who are walking and talking with their friends? Or people walking their dogs? Most people walking are distracted in one way or another.
Don Ritchie, The Man That Helped Save 500 People From Suicide
This is an amazing story of a man who showed true compassion for his fellow man. His name is Don Ritchie and sadly he passed away yesterday at the age of 85, but before he left this world he made sure he had impacted it in an amazing way.
