The American Academy of Pediatrics has come out with a study that says that only about 13% of teens are getting a suggested amounts of sleep.

The study recommends that middle and high school should be started at 8:30 a.m. instead of 7:30, the time when many classes begin.

Colbert's cracks on it (video above) are classic.

According to the study, sleep-wake cycles in adolescents shift after puberty to up to two hours later, and changing the time that school starts goes along with their natural rhythms.

The new policy statement makes substantial claims, saying that more sleep could cut down on depression, obesity, automobile accidents, and could boost academics, self esteem and overall quality of life.
