Should companies stop hiring individuals that smoke?  A hospital in Maryland is doing just that.

Maybe this doesn't matter to you either way.  Perhaps it depends on the environment that you work in.  Either way, this may be a touch subject.

The Maryland hospital that is instituting this policy says that they want to have a healthy workforce, and environment for patients and visitors.  The hospital says it should practice what they preach.

Their new employment policy won't go into effect until next summer. But this July, for their six campuses, they will also be imposing a ban on tobacco use including e-cigarettes.

This story was originally reported on by KDVR.

What do you think of this ban.  Does it reach too far violating the rights of people?  Or is it justified?  If you smoke, would you quit smoking if it meant a company wouldn't hire you?
