Sheryl Crow is making some news;  not with new music, not with TV appearances, not with a new celebrity hook up, but with a  cookbook.

The American born singer, songwriter, musician, and actress will release a cookbook called “If It Makes You Healthy” on March 29th. The title is a play on her hit song “If It Makes You Happy”. The book is co-authored by Crow’s personal chef, Chuck White. (Whom she met during her bought with Breast Cancer.)

The book will feature organic recipes and feature over 125, what she calls, “rock and roll recipes ” that will be arranged by the seasons.

Crow became fascinated by cooking when she started much healthier diet after being diagnosed with breast cancer. In the story from Contact Music she says,

"I really got interested in cooking when I got diagnosed with breast cancer almost five years ago in February. I learned a lot about nutrition because I wanted to be proactive in my cancer treatment and part of that for me was to know what I was putting into my body, immune boosting and such."

Now she’s sharing her love of healthy food with the world.

You can pre-order the book now at Amazon.com.  Cover price is $29.99, but can be had for much less than that on the site.

Crow is certainly not the first celebrity to delve into the cookbook world, but she is doing it in collaboration with a real chef, and she has a good story to go with it.  As a cancer survivor, I can certainly buy in to her reasons for healthy eating.
