I went and saw Oliver Stone's new flick, 'Savages' and I have to say I wasn't impressed. The premise is these two guys grow and deal "primo" pot and a Mexican Cartel wants part of their business and when the two guys refuse, the cartel steals the woman that they are sharing. Yup, that's right. She loves both of the guys and they love her and they all share, which to me, made for some awkward moments in the movie. On top of the awkward moments, the movie was, in my opinion, way too long sitting at about 2 and a half hours. The could have cut out about 45 min or so and it would have been a bit better. I mean there was one scene where they showed Blake Lively's character just shopping at a mall. Or any of the awkward parts between the three of them. We get it, they all love each other. The premise to me was poorly executed and parts of the plot seem to be lacking. One big part that was missing was after they showed us Blake shopping, which the whole time she was being followed, she supposedly got kidnapped but we didn't see how.

I had a lot of problems with this movie, one of the big ones is the fact that I don't really care for Blake Lively and she narrated the whole movie, and her parts in the movie weren't that good. As for the good parts of the movie, John Travolta, Selma Hayek and Benicio Del Toro. Those three were great in the film, but I am not sure it is worth sitting through the film just to see the parts that they are in.

Overall, I give 'Savages' 2 out of 5 DEA agents.

'Savages' is Rated R for strong brutal and grisly violence, some graphic sexuality, nudity, drug use and language throughout.
