I spent many mornings looking forward to "Blinky's Fun Club"' and I can remember wanting nothing more than to have Blinky The Clown wish me a "happy birfday" as a child.  Russell Scott, the man we knew better as 'Blinky The Clown' has passed away at the age of 91.

Blinky was a Denver TV icon. According to the Denver Post he created more than 100,000 television shows over his four-decade career. KWGN reports that Russell Scott was inducted in the Silver Circle of the Heartland Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences in 2004 and inducted into the Broadcast Professionals of Colorado’s Broadcast Pioneers Hall of Fame in 2005.

It feels like we're losing part of our childhoods, all of the sudden. The man who voiced "The Count" on Sesame St. Passed away last week, and now Blinky the Clown.

Rest in peace Mr. Scott, you touched the hearts of tens of thousands of children for decades and you will be missed and remembered.

Check out this tribute slideshow someone had put together about "The Only Clown They Ever Liked."
