The Colorado Rockies (3-4) opened a three-game series against the defending division champions with a 7-6 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks (5-2) last night in Denver. With the game tied 6-6, Todd Helton hit an RBI double in the eighth, giving the Rockies a 7-6 win. The two teams will be at it again tonight at 6:10 at Coors Field. (TV: Root Sports.)

Troy Tulowitzki knocked three hits and walked once, and Dexter Fowler and Ramon Hernandez belted their first home runs of the season. Helton’s game-winning hit accounted for his third RBI, and it was the 557th double — 23rd-most all time — of his career.
