If you like your food fresh, you might want to check out Honolulu Poke Bar in Johnstown! My wife and I decided to stop in and try out a Poke bowl this weekend, and I have to say we were quite impressed!

When we first arrived we were greeted by a nice girl who gave us the rundown on how to get the most out of our poke bowl. The options were small, medium and large for the bowls. Small bowls had two scoops of protein, medium 3 scoops and large 4 scoops. I opted to go with a medium bowl and did spicy tuna, salmon and red snapper. With the medium bowl you had a choice for a salad as well. I do have to say, I am not a huge fan of crab salad... Until we went to Honolulu Poke Bowl! Their crab salad was amazing! In fact I could eat an entire carton of it and would want more.

There were plenty of other options to add for protein as well if the raw fish doesn't fit your fancy. Other toppings you could add to your poke bowl included pineapple, cucumber, edamame, and my favorite of them all... Tobiko!  A flying fish roe that they happily piled on to my poke bowl.

It was a great Sunday meal for sure! The only thing I didn't really care for was the odd atmosphere that the place seemed to have. When we walked in, the place was empty besides the two employees, so it was oddly quiet in there. The atmosphere would have been a lot better had music been playing. Other than that, it was a great place to eat! If you are in the mood from some fresh eats, I would highly suggest checking out Honolulu Poke Bowl in Johnstown next to Sheels.
