You’ve heard of the Pixar movie "Up" right? Where the old guy ties balloons to his house and takes off on an epic adventure. Well, The people from National Geographic have built a real flying "Up" house. Read more for the story and to see video footage of the flight.

This past Saturday morning a team of scientists, engineers and world-class balloon pilots successfully launched a 16-foot by 16-foot house with 300 colored weather balloons.  The launch took place at a private airfield east of Los Angeles. The house flew 10 stories high and stayed aloft for about an hour. The footage they shot of the flight will be part of a new national geographic series premiering this fall. Things like flying houses used to only exist in your imagination (and in films thanks to the people at Pixar), but it looks like just about anything is possible nowadays.  I wonder If I could fly my house to a beach for the weekend?
