While responding to a shoplifting call, a Loveland police car was hit by another vehicle at Eisenhower and Denver Avenue on Monday (April 25, 2016). According to the Reporter-Herald, the officer was responding to assist another officer with a shoplifting call, at approximately 11:59 a.m., as the suspect was being pursued on foot. That is when the police car, with lights and sirens blazing, was hit by a 2005 Chevy Malibu, traveling West on East Eisenhower. The Malibu came to a stop after hitting another stopped car. Both the driver of the Malibu, and the officer in the cruiser were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The investigation is still ongoing to determine if charges what charges will be filed.
