Today is 12-12-12, something that won't happen again for another century... and now Paul McCartney is filling in for Kurt Cobain... something that will also not happen again for a really long time.

Dave Grohl front-man of the Foo Fighters and drummer for Nirvana made an appearance with McCartney early this year at the Grammy Awards ceremony. They must have hit it off as Grohl asked McCartney to act the part of Kurt Cobain for tonight's benefit concert for hurricane Sandy.

"I didn't really know who they were," the Beatles member said in an interview. "They are saying how good it is to be back together. I said, 'Whoa? You guys haven't played together for all that time? And somebody whispered to me, 'That's Nirvana. You're Kurt.' I couldn't believe it."
 
Since the Grammy Awards, Grohl, McCartney and Krist Novoselic (former bass player of Nirvana) have been practicing in secret to prepare for the benefit concert.
 
Nirvana was formed in the 1980's and their successful run was stopped do to the suicide committed by front-man Kurt Cobain in 1994.
 
Other acts at tonights benefit concert include The Rolling Stones, The Who, Billy Joel,Alicia Keys, Eric Clapton, Roger Waters, Kanye West and Jon Bon Jovi.
 
Estimations are saying that viewers could reach up to 2 billion for tonight's hurricane Sandy benefit concert.
