Another great, yet simple, Fort Collins community event is on the way.

Open Streets was successful last year, and should only be even bigger this year. Combining community, activity and interaction between different demographics of our town, Open Streets brings people into the street. Streets that normally service cars are turned into safe spaces for people to walk, bike, skate, run or otherwise self-propel.

The route for Open Streets on June 7 will be on W. Elizabeth Street from Shields Street to Overland Trail.

Five activity hubs are planned along the route including activities such as group exercise classes from Miramont Lifestyle Fitness at the PLAY hub; serpentine bike course by Ronny Bush State Farm Insurance at the IMAGINE hub; free massages by Fort Collins CommUnity Massage at the THRIVE hub; Max bus tours by Transfort at the MOVE hub; kids’ crafts by Beet Street at the GROW hub and much more. For those wishing to ride a bike, bike rentals will be available by the Fort Collins Bike Library for use at the event.

There will be music with the Show Stage will be featured at the GROW hub. The Show Stage schedule includes:

· 10-11:30 a.m.: Colony Funk band

· Noon-12:45 p.m.: Core Power Yoga class

· 1-1:45 p.m.: Zumba class by the City of Fort Collins Recreation Department

· 2-3 p.m.: Karate West class
