Taylor Swift is in town! Which may not completely make you scream like a 14 year old girl but it did give me new Taylor Swift appreciation. Not only for her moral standings, amazing positive influence on girls self esteem, but for her musical determination and abilities. It all together will make sure you aren't a hater that still hates, hates, hates.

Lets start with her musical ability. Her talent lies in writing, no question about that. She writes songs and hooks like no body's business and that attributes tremendously to her success. But, after listening to her recent single "Wildest Dreams" I realized that she is the Jackson Pollock of the music industry. There's nothing more that will attract me to an artist in any genre then when they face hurdles and struggles and overcome them to deserve the success that they have.

Like Jackson Pollock, Taylor faced the industry that she wanted to be in with harsh criticism. Jackson Pollock faced critics for his lack of ability to draw, but overcame this by painting and showing the art world that one thing doesn't mean everything.

Taylor Swift has faced critics for her vocal abilities. With her song writing she has shown that even though she's criticized for what she lacks, she will work hard to make it better and work even harder at what she is good at to become as successful as she is today. She has creatively combined what her voice actually can do, with her song writing abilities to create unique vocal trinkets in her songs. This makes her, in my eyes, a highly respectable artist.

I grew up with influences singing about rubbing genies the right way and being lonely so hit me baby one more time. Don't get me wrong-I love me some Britney and X-Tina but Taylor swift has such a stronger, powerful, more positive female influence on girls that  it's something to definitely give her credit for. She's a female that spreads strength, confidence, and determination. And as a female that appreciates those attributes, I have a new found respect for her.
