A former motel owner is making headlines after violating the privacy of thousands of guests for 29 years.

In a letter to journalist Gay Talese in 1980, Aurora's Manor House Motel owner Gerald Foos admitted to watching guests through secret peepholes from above the rooms, KUTV reports.

"Sexually, I have witnessed, observed, and studied the best  first hand, unrehearsed, non-laboratory sex between couples, and most other conceivable sex deviations during these past 15 years," read the letter.

Talese says Foos also kept detailed notes of everything he witnessed - for example, he logged exactly 184 male orgasms and 33 female orgasms in the year 1973.

Foos believes his behavior didn't harm anyone because they never knew they were being watched. Unfortunately, the statute of limitations on any charges he may have faced has likely passed.

The Manor House Motel on Colfax has since been torn down.
