According to a study done by RoadSnacks, the online publication lists Greeley as the 10th worst place to live in the state of Colorado.

The website says that they used science to figure out the rankings, while analyzing 103 communities with a population over 5,000. They used the following criteria to put together their list:

  • Population Density (the lower the worse it was)
  • Highest Unemployment Rates
  • Worst Home Values
  • Adjusted Median Income
  • Education
  • High Crime

Greeley makes it as the tenth worst city in Colorado, and RoadSnacks uses the following information on why it just cracks the list.

Crime: 22nd most dangerous in Colorado

Median Income: $44,226

Average Home Price: $162,000

RoadSnacks says "Greeley doesn’t really rank low in any particular category. It’s just generally lousy there. Not taking into account entertainment (things to do), crime here is way above average, the schools are below average, and residents don’t command high salaries. It’s too bad that Northern Colorado U students are stuck there."

No other Northern Colorado towns made it into the top ten list, but what cities ranked above Greeley for the distinction of worst city to live in Colorado (in order of worst to not as bad)?

  • Pueblo
  • Delta
  • Alamosa
  • Montrose
  • Trinidad
  • Grand Junction
  • Stratmoor
  • Cortez
  • La Junta

While one Northern Colorado city made it on the "worst" list, no cities in the region made it on the "best" list. Stonegate, Columbine, and Highlands Ranch all make the top three when it comes to the cities in the state that RoadSnacks says are tops.
