Fort Collins-native New Belgium Brewing Company has been in the news a lot lately.  First, they were doing away with free samples in their tasting room, in favor of selling full-sized pints.  Now, continuing with the "larger beer" theme, comes this piece of news.

The Coloradoan reports that New Belgium is installing a new canning line, from which will come new 16-ounce cans of the brewery's popular Fat Tire and Ranger IPA brews.

There is also a new yet to be named beer that will be released in the larger cans, (media relations director Bryan) Simpson said. Brewers are still developing the recipe for the new beer, but Simpson said it will compliment the tall boy package well.

The canning line cost less than $8 million, and should be up and running by January; so Simpson said we should see the new larger cans in stores, alongside the traditional 12-ounce ones, by late January or early February.
