If 5 years ago, someone had told me to try a boxed wine, I would have laughed in their face remembering that one time I tried that horrible pink liquid titled White Zinfandel, from a Franzia box. It burned my mouth and hurt my stomach upon impact. Much like the beer enthusiasts here in Northern Colorado we have lots of wine enthusiasts as well. Many of them work at local liquor stores like Wilbur's, Pringles or Supermarket Liquors. If you ask for wine help, they will help you. It was actually one of them who told me a few years ago that I might like to try Black Box Malbec, that it was "actually pretty good".

I was skeptical, but that got me started on my boxed wine journey. I started bringing it to parties and keeping it on hand, as it was so economical and easy. I now adore 2 boxed wines specifically. If you like red wine and good easy drinkable wine, these are amazing. A Spanish red wine called Castillo de Anna, it comes in a blue box with yellow lettering and is right at $20 usually (for a box which is 4 bottles worth). The other is a red wine from Italy called Piccini Rosso Toscana which I had had in a bottle, but just discovered in a box. Delicious and easy, also around $20. Cheers!
