It's Monday and that means I give you my review for a movie that I watched over the weekend and today's review is on the mysterious 'Chronicle'. Honestly, I didn't know what to expect going into this movie but, I was not disappointed.  I can tell you one thing though, it is not a super hero movie. This is about three high schoolers that come in contact with a mysterious element and are given the power of telekinesis. It "chronicles" their journey of discovering their power and the responsibility of that power. To quote a famous comic, "With great power comes great responsibility." I think that quote fits perfectly because as the story develops it becomes a moral question of what to do with the power and how easily someone can become absorbed by the power and how their judgment can become hazy.

It tells all of this through the eyes of one of the kids  home video camera as well as a few others like, security cameras. Meaning, its cinematography can be compared to 'Paranormal Activity', 'Cloverfield', 'Quarantine' or other films that are filmed with the home movie aspect. It is shot so well though, at times, you are drawn into the film.

Overall I would say this is a must see and give it 4 out of 5 bent forks.

'Chronicle' is rated PG-13 for intense action and violence, thematic material, some language, sexual content and teen drinking.
