Starting tomorrow night, anyone who uses Highway 14 (AKA East Mulberry Street) between Fort Collins and Ault is going to have a detour to deal with...for the next 28 days.

According to CDOT, a bridge is being replaced over the Coal Bank Creek three miles West of Ault, at mile marker 149.  The work will completely close down Highway 14 all day and night, from midnight on June 11th until July 10th.

Originally built in 1935, the existing bridge is structurally deficient and warrants replacement as a part of the Colorado Bridge Enterprise (CBE), which is part of the Funding Advancement for Surface Transportation and Economic Recovery (FASTER) legislation. The bridge is being replaced with a wider and higher structure that meets current standards.

A detour will be in place, requiring drivers to use SH 257, SH 392, and US 85 to get around the construction.

Is this going to affect your commute? How do you plan to get around it?
