Matt Sparx’s Florida Christmas Vacation
I have had this little vacay planned out for months to visit our family in Florida. My mom had no idea we were showing up so the surprise was a sweet present for her. She cried, we cried, feels were had. We went to Jacksonville, Tampa and Anna Maria Island. Check out some of the photos I took!
First thing we did was go walk the beach at Jax Beach!
Gotta love the waves!
I just had to take a slow-mo of the waves crashing on to the shore!
When in the south, you Whataburger... Bacon jalapeno cheeseburger to be exact!
Maple bourbon syrup... because bourbon maple!
A random dragonfly sculpture in a parking lot while doing some last minute Christmas shopping.
When a 4 year old demands you color with them, you color a fabulous my little pony!
Then you take a selfie
And when your old pup wants a cookie, you give them one!
Heading down to Tampa we stopped at a rest area... Be careful where you step.
The snakes man...The SNAKES!
When in Tampa, you smoke Tampa cigars and eat Cuban sandwiches. It's an unspoken rule.
Speaking of Tampa, I brought my big camera with me and took a 7 photo panorama of the skyline. I have to edit the skyline of Jacksonville to complete all of my skylines of the cities I have lived in. I am going to get them printed on canvas and hang them in my new place.
The sands are white and the water is teal on the beaches of Anna Maria Island near Sarasota.
On the last night there we hit up River City Brewing company overlooking the Jacksonville skyline. Sipping on brews and waiting for sunset to shoot another panorama.
We were suppose to board this plane, but they were overbooked by 2... So we took a later flight and got some travel vouchers.
We didn't want to stay in the airport for 7 hours, so we rented this!
I decided that I am going to save up to buy one!
We went out to lunch with my mom and some of our old friends that were our neighbors... I asked the waitress if they had any penguin and this is what she put on the bill!
It was great to see my mom after a year and a half! I do have to say I am happy to be back in the colder weather and dry air of Colorado though!
