Start all those New Year’s resolutions with a tall, frosty glass water. Or better yet, make it two. Research shows the average American doesn’t drink enough water, and drinking water can actually aid in weight loss.

According to the Mayo Clinic, roughly 64 ounces (eight eight-ounce glasses) of water per day is a good benchmark for people to imbibe. But, new studies show that the average American consumes about half of that. And we’re not helping our kids drink enough water either. (American Kids Don't Drink Enough Water)

Not only is drinking water good for your body it could aide you in weight loss. (Drink Water, Lose Weight)

It can make you feel more full, it helps you digest and process food, and you’ll most likely cut buck and calorie laced beverages if you drink water instead.

So drink up me 'hearties, and cheers to 2011!
