My wife and I were surprised and delighted to see the Longmont High School football team featured on NBC pre-game coverage of Super Bowl XLIX as part of an NFL program called "Together We Make Football."

The Trojans were honored for community service work they do off-the-field.  Head Coach Doug Johnson started the program back in 2007. Unfortunately, they didn't win the contest, but being a finalist was quite an honor.

Because the Longmont team was chosen as finalists for a chance to win a trip to the Super Bowl, they were invited to attend the Broncos home opener this season against the Colts. Unfortunately, they didn't win the contest, but being a finalist was quite an honor. NBC's Today Show was at that game and they did the story featured in this exclusive Today Show video:
