Business owners along East Mulberry in Fort Collins have been asking Larimer County Sheriff’s Office and commissioners to help stop panhandlers along the road. Some business owners have found panhandlers passed out near their business and claim that the loitering of panhandlers is scaring customers away from the area.

Safety for everyone is the main concern for commissioners to work on stopping panhandling in Larimer County.

“In this day and age, there’s no legitimate reason for,” added Commissioner Tom Donnelly. “With the social safety net that exists and all the resources, there’s no reason.

“Somebody’s going to get run over. Somebody’s going to get killed, and that’ll be much worse than panhandling.”
