Larimer County Natural Resources Offering Public Tour of Chimney Hollow Open Space

How about a guided field trip in our backyard? The Larimer County Natural Resources and Northern Water are inviting the public to attend a free tour of the Chimney Hollow Open Space in the Blue Mountain Conservation area. The tour is offered on two different days in June, the 21st or the 23rd.
The field trip will include an easy, round-trip walk of 0.5 mile for the whole group. After learning about the Windy Gap Firming Project’s proposed Chimney Hollow Reservoir and the Chimney Hollow property, the group will split up, and one group will have an opportunity to hike farther, and the other group will receive a historical interpretive tour of the property. The longer hike will be an additional 1.5 miles and is rated as moderate. This hike will give a sense of what the recreational amenities may become following a public management planning process.
