The rumors have been surrounding the city of Fort Collins, but King Soopers has now made the confirmation of what we already deemed reality.

King Soopers will be taking over the former Kmart location on South College Avenue in Fort Collins.

According to the Coloradoan, the Kmart complex will be razed and will be replaced with a King Soopers that will be 123, 419 square feet. The newer store will include the King Soopers concept of selling clothing and home goods as well as groceries.

The building the currently houses Larkburger will remain on the parcel of land. A parking lot to be used for riders of the MAX bus along with a community area are also part of the plans.

Kmart plans to close their Fort Collins location on Monday, May 9th.
