I’m not a afraid to admit that I still love video games. I was skeptical of a lot of the new "movement-controllers" like the Wii, the Move, and the Kinect when they first appeared. But now that I've used them, I have to admit they  are fun.  After I tried out a Kinect I pretty much  "had" to go out and buy one (Ok, I didn't have to, I just really, really wanted one).   Now the Kinect has broken a Guinness record as the world's fastest selling consumer electronic in history!

Apparently I am not the only person that geeked out over the Kinect.  According to a blog post from Microsoft,

"Guinness World Records has officially named Kinect for Xbox 360 the fastest-selling consumer electronics device, which sold an average of 133,333 units per day for a total of eight million units in its first 60 days between November 4, 2010 and January 3, 2011."

This makes Microsoft's device the fastest-selling consumer electronics device in history, beating both the iPhone and iPad's previous records.   They also announced some new games for Kinect, and some future innovations including Kinect-enabled Netflix/Hulu, and Avatar Kinect.

If you have a Kinect you are probably as giddy as I am about some of the new stuff on the horizon. the future of gaming looks pretty intriguing.  If you are wondering what the heck a Kinect is, maybe this video will do a better job an answering your question.
