Some call it October, some call it Crocktober. I'm a longtime fan of the crockpot. Candy Chicken is my healthier version of the Brown Sugar Chicken recipe found at CrockPot365.com. My kids will all eat tons of this chicken. I typically serve it was brown rice or noodles and a vegetable. Don't be afraid to use variations on this one. It's a forgiving and easy dish.

Kama's Candy Chicken

  • 6 Chicken Thighs or 3 Breasts (can be frozen and work just fine)
  • 1/4 cup Soy Sauce or Bragg's Liquid Aminos(healthy and less salty)
  • 2 TB of vinegar, I use white, but any kind would probably work
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup or brown sugar or white sugar ; )
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder or 2 minced cloves
  • little pepper
  • little salt, only if using Bragg's Liquid Aminos, otherwise soy sauce is salty enough

Cook on low for 6 hours, or high for 4 hours. Add an hour or two if using frozen meat. Mush with utensil of your choice and enjoy. Great served with rice or noodles. There will be some juices, but add extra liquids if you prefer lots.
