I'll be 35 this year. I've never been one to fear aging, or complain about it's side effects. Oh, perhaps, because it's side effects are just now kicking in. Darn! I recently realized how dull and dry my skin has started looking. I realized I've just been using whatever on my face for the last several years and I might need something different.

I was looking into expensive stuff and anti-aging stuff, but then I contacted a friend who had just done a similar overhaul of her skin products. She turned me onto these amazing reddit threads for beauty and skincare. I read through the "beginner's skincare routine" info and went to the store to by Cerave Hydrating cleanser and decided I would use the Vanicream I already had in the house as my moisturizer. There are lots of other recommendations based on what you prefer and what type of skin you have. I immediately started noticing more happy, supple looking skin. So easy. Let me also say, I had Vanicream on hand, because it was the BEST thing I found to use on my toddlers eczema. It doesn't have a lot of the crap in it that other creams do, so I was already using it often. I had just never thought about putting it on my face, because it didn't call itself a fancy name implying "face cream". But, it's amazing. Nothing greasy. No clogged pores. If anything, the blackheads I've had my whole life are looking better. Amazing, what some true moisture and simple products can do. There will be more to come as I get a little deeper into caring for my skin.
