A very easy way to kick start yourself out of a rut and into having more energy, balance, strength and flexibility is to enroll in a fitness program.

Paying for a program makes us much more likely to go. When we have skin in the game, we are much more likely to go.

Plus, when you join a program, you don't have to worry about getting to the fitness facility and not being sure what to do.

What kind of workout do you do? Do you just lift some weights? Hop on a machine? Calisthenics?

Also, if you haven't been active in a while, should you worry about injury? How should you warmup? How hard should you push yourself?

When you join a program, it takes stress away because it's planned for us better than we could have planned it ourselves. Trainers really know what they are doing nowadays.

It requires so much less time than it used to because exercise science keeps advancing. If you haven't had professional coaching on your fitness in a long time, you'll be shocked at what it is like now.

There are people of all levels in almost every class I'm in, and we all learn from each other.

So, find a program that fits your level, register for it, and go to it.

If you want to use a free resource, that is fine, and I know that money is a deal breaker for many people, but I think it is a motivator. It shows that you are invested. Nothing says "I'm in!" more than handing over some of your hard earned money. Take it from whatever fund you are using to pay for a bad habit.

It should be money well spent.

Five reasons to join a group program?
